Free Web Counter FAQ
Are your website counters really free?
- Yes, our web counters are completely free! Our web counters are supported by the addition of a small text ad. This covers our costs and allows our sponsors to reach a diverse group of new customers. In exchange for including the ad, we provide you with a great web counter at absolutely no cost and without an ugly banner ad.
What types of ads are going to be displayed with your free web counters?
- The ads come in the form little text links under the counter code. They are usually not more than 25 characters long and are set in a very small font. All of our sponsors provide family friendly content and have been reviewed thoroughly before we accept their ads. You will be able to see the way your web counter will look, as well as the link to the advertiser being promoted, before you cut and paste the code. This way, you can see what exactly it is going to look like and verify that the site will not be offensive to your viewers.
I don't want ads on my site. Can I take it off?
- No, the advertisements must be kept on the counter or your account will be disabled. If you have a problem with the small text link, you can use another counter provider that charges you for the hit counter service. It probably won't be as easy as our free web counter service.
Are you really going to make sure the ad is on my site?
- Yes. Since we charge our sponsors by the number of free counters installed, we have a duty to our advertisers to make certain that their ad is in fact where we say it is. Consequently, we check every install within a couple of weeks. If you're asking these types of questions, our free web counter probably isn't for you; there are many other hit counter providers out there that allow you to not show an ad. However, you have to pay up front for that luxory.
My site is hosted on a free hosting account. Can I still use a free Easy-WebCounter.com web counter?
- Yes, you can still use our free and easy web counter on a free hosted site, as long as you have access to the source code of your pages. You just need to be able to place the hit counter code exactly as we provide it to you. If you can, than there is no problem with using our web counters on a free hosted site.
Can I use an Easy-WebCounter.com web counter in e-mails?
- No. Our web counters are meant to be used on pages that are publicly available on the internet. If we find you are using one in an e-mail, we will remove your account.
